The town of Varenna is only 5 km away and is well worth a visit. as well as the entire perimeter of the lake. The area is perfect for winter sports fans (St. Moritz is one hour away by car). and to visit Milan without the gridlock. just take the train (times and ticket prices available from: www.trenitalia.com). Thanks to public transport. Bellagio is also easily reached. as well as other lakeside areas. via car ferry or small boat (times and ticket prices available from: www.navigazionelaghi.it).NB: Guests arriving after the fixed time may not be granted access to the house unless arrangements have already been made with the owner. who may charge you for extra staff costs resulting from your late arrival.
